Resumen

Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores is a private, non-profit *institución universitaria* in Bogotá. It received legal status (personería jurídica) through Resolución 7542 of May 1982. The main sede is at Carrera 16 #63A-68, on the edge of Chapinero. A second sede in Cartagena (Calle 31 #19-51, Pie de la Popa) has operated since 2002. MEN data compiled by El Observatorio de la Universidad Colombiana give 8,801 students in 2025.

It gained CNA institutional accreditation by Resolución 015638 of 5 August 2022, for four years. That term ran to about August 2026, and we could not confirm a renewal, so check the CNA/SNIES record before relying on it. At programme level, Derecho renewed its accreditation in June 2026 (Resolución 015617, six years), and Psicología is also accredited. We found no U-Sapiens or Scimago position.

Vida en el campus

The Bogotá campus is a group of urban buildings around Carrera 16, not a closed campus. Chapinero and the Zona G/Zona Rosa restaurant and nightlife areas are a short ride away. Bienestar Universitario runs sports, culture and counselling. The engineering faculty has aeronautical workshops and labs. Detailed facility information is limited online: Information pending — contributions welcome.

Intercambios

Incoming students are nominated by a partner institution. The Dirección de Relaciones Interinstitucionales publishes semester calls, and your home university signs the application form. Arrivals are met through an induction day (3 February and 28 July in 2026) and the PALS buddy programme. The partner list is mostly Latin American, including:

Tuition waivers depend on the specific agreement.

Admisión

Degree applicants need Saber 11, or a foreign exam recognised by ICFES, plus a bachillerato apostilled and convalidated with the MEN. Registration windows are long; for 2026-I it ran from September 2025 to early February. No selectivity data is published, so there is no acceptance rate. Short visa-exempt stays of up to 180 days use a PID entry stamp. Longer stays, or nationals who need a visa, require the Visa V Estudiante from Cancillería (Resolución 5477 de 2022). It asks for an admission letter, health insurance and six months of bank statements.

Alojamiento

There are no residences. Students rent rooms in Chapinero, Teusaquillo, Galerías or Palermo, typically COP 650,000–950,000 per month furnished. Carrera 16 is well served by buses, and TransMilenio on Caracas is a few blocks east.

Empleabilidad

The university runs a graduate-relations and internship (prácticas) function. Aeronautics students benefit from Bogotá's aviation sector, and law and psychology students from the city's courts and clinics. We found no published employment rates: Information pending — contributions welcome.
